Our High Point Showroom Collaboration with Brian Patrick Flynn

For the very first time, we handed over the design of a portion of our showroom to someone outside of our organization and allowed them to put a stamp of their style and aesthetic within our space. We wanted to give customers the opportunity to see how our products can come to life in the hands of the very kind of person who might purchase our products. And we hoped to find a creative mind who could stamp their style within our space in such a way that our customers might feel inspired with their own ideas.

When brainstorming what this type of partnership could look like, our team continually returned to the same Atlanta-based creative, Brian Patrick Flynn. We have worked with Flynn on smaller projects in the past and knew that his skillset, design aesthetic, and overall enthusiasm for design would create an organic collaboration. Brian worked alongside our visual merchandising team to bring his vision to life for this April’s High Point Market with a mix of our products, antique furnishings, and, of course, lots of plants and flowers.

Flynn’s Background
Flynn is a long-time pro at coordinating lots of moving parts to captivate an audience. He got his start as an American television producer before turning to interior design. After years writing, producing, and directing news programs and home improvement shows, Flynn decided to try his own hand at residential interiors and quickly earned the respect of his peers and magazine editors for his keen, intuitive design eye. Over time he has built an impressive high-profile client base designing high-end houses and expanded his career into TV and film. Two of his yearly projects, HGTV Dream Home and HGTV Urban Oasis, reach tens of millions of people. He also has his own reality-based design series on Magnolia Network, Mind for Design, in which the trials and tribulations of being a self-taught designer are on full display.

The Collaboration
Accent Decor’s Creative Director, Becky Hillis and and Visual Experience Manager Toni Dammicci, worked with Flynn through concept, product selection, staging, and mapping out floral and plant inclusions. “Brian brings such great energy and fresh perspective on our product and in our showroom,” says Hillis. “He was tasked to outfit the area comprising of a large antique table and oversized bookshelf at one of the main entry points of our space. His genuine enthusiasm for our product and designs, and our team’s process was energizing and brought a playful, yet professional approach to our beloved space. I love how he mixed pieces from various collections that we haven’t seen merchandised or paired together until now.” See Brian’s chosen Accent Decor products, here.
