Best Floral Design: Rekindle Creative

Best Styled Look: The Idea Emporium

Jessica chose this entry due to it capturing the sense of play, wonder, magic and mystery from our showroom story, Eric and Eloise.
“Not only is it a striking composition at first glance, but it is rewarding at a second glance,” Jessica said. “From the little details of the trees to the miniature figurines of the fox and the hare, this photo captures the heart of the tale.”
When Carey sat down to put a look together, we were surprised (and impressed!) to find out that she created twenty or so different vignettes before she was happy with the results.
“The most challenging part was filling the scene without adding clutter,” Carey said.
She played with contrast in quite a few of her submissions, but ultimately it was the pop of those moody trees against the stark white wall that grabbed Jessica’s attention.
“I fell in love with the story of Eric and Eloise so I knew I had to include a little fox and hare somewhere hidden in the scene,” Carey said. “When I think of Scandinavian design, it’s all about simplicity, so I wanted to keep the trees very two-dimensional rather than build full topiaries or use fresh branches, so it was off to the laser where I designed and cut the trees to interlock together.”
