Last month, we held our first Instagram style challenge, and it was a wonderful success. A lot of you requested that we keep them coming, so since we have four showroom stories this year, we decided we’d host four Instagram style challenges, and the next one up is Eric and Eloise, our holiday story.
At its heart, the story showcases a child’s tale about a fox, Eloise, and a hare, Eric, two unsuspecting friends that relish in the innocence of imagination and the joy of being home again. Illustrated by our creative consultant, Jessica Hiemstra, the story brings a quiet playfulness to our 2016 holiday collection and breathes life into the idea of winter itself – a time of magic.
We see winter as the darkest of seasons, yet always illuminated and hopeful. So with that, we challenge our followers to design a floral arrangement or styled look that plays with the contrast of light and dark. Think minimalism, Scandinavian-inspired design, and wintery, moody tones.
What You Need to Do:
- Follow us on Instagram @AccentDecorInc
- Design a moody, winter-inspired floral arrangement or styled look (merchandise display, tablescape, home decor vignette) that shows off a contrast of light and dark.
- Share your designs with us on Instagram between June 27 and August 8
- Make sure your profile is public so we don’t miss your entry!
Participant Eligibility:
In order to be eligible to win, you must have a business license. If you are not a registered customer with Accent Decor, you will need to start the application process in order to receive the $1000 account credit.
There is no purchase necessary to register with us or to participate in this challenge. While we would love to see how Accent Decor products inspire your creations, using our product will not be a deciding factor in who wins.

Selecting the Winner:
Two winners will be selected and each winner will receive a $1000 credit to shop our newest products. Winners will be announced Monday, August 1, 2016.
We will have two judges: a guest judge in the floral industry who will pick his or her favorite floral design and our creative consultant, Jessica Hiemstra, who will pick her favorite styled look. The judges will receive all images without usernames for fair judging.
We’ll contact the winners directly through a private message on Instagram and/or through email to let them know they’ve been selected. Winners have until August 5 to respond and confirm they are a registered customer with us or another winner will be selected.

Participants can share as many photos as they want in both categories, but they will only be eligible to win in one category.
Image Rights:
Our social media strategist will share photos each week of the challenge and by using the #AccentDecorMagic tag, participants give permission for Accent Decor to share the photo on www.accentdecor.com, in the Accent Decor newsletter, on this blog, and on any Accent Decor social media account. Proper credit will be given to each participant.
Photos shared on any Accent Decor web platform before the winners are announced do no reflect judge’s preferences.
