AD + the 2014 ACCP Conference

When the Association of Club Catering Professionals (ACCP) approached us with the opportunity to partner with them for their 2014 National Conference at The Breakers, we were more than excited to hop on board.

Lynne and her team at ACCP do such an incredible job each year providing a wealth of industry knowledge and trends, engaging and well-renowned keynote speakers, and of course a gorgeous environment for learning and connecting. This year, Ian Prosser of Botanica represented for the floral design community, and was able to design many gorgeous arrangements for the event, as well as share his wealth of knowledge with attendees.

We were thrilled to see the caliber of elegance and design displayed at this year's ACCP conferenece, and highly recommend it to any of our customers in the Club Catering industry, for next year!

Accent Decor Goes to Paris: Maison&Objet

This past week, a few members of the Accent Decor team were able to travel to Europe for a time of inspiration, rejuvenation, and of course, a good bit of work. Not only were they able to touch base with some of our partners overseas, but they were also thrilled to attend the renowned Maison&Objet design show in Paris, as we do each year.

This show is a time where we get to connect with makers, designers, buyers, and beauty enthusiasts from around the world. In just a few short days, we walk hundreds of aisles, admiring booths, asking questions, connecting with partners, drawing inspiration, and re-fueling our creative tanks. It is truly one of the most important shows that we attend.

This year, we were once again blown away by the caliber of design that we experienced while browsing Maison&Objet.

As we know, not everyone is able to find the time to attend Maison&Objet, so we of course brought home loads of information and take-aways that we are excited to share with you. Are you ready for the top design trends that we saw at Maison&Objet 2014?

Many existing 2014 color trends were still going strong at Maison&Objet, but have notably evolved with the times. Cobalt blue was a popular thread throughout many booths, and pastels were still very prevalent for both designs and products alike. Copper is still a repeating trend, speckled throughout all of these evolved color stories.

A major trend that we saw throughout this show was the telling of the stories behind the makers. In a world where so much is commonly intangible, online, and flat... Buyers and consumers alike are really craving to know the meaning, purpose, and history behind the items they select. They are asking for more than a simple exchange of goods. We saw this everywhere at Maison&Objet, which was a very exciting theme for us, as Accent Decor is and has always been committed to the story behind the scenes.
In line with this idea of the intangible becoming tangible, strong textures and tactile displays were a common thread throughout the booths that we saw as well. Using 3D art, unique product displays, and textured elements to create whole worlds within worlds. Quite an inspiring thought!

We hope that this little teaser, of the wealth of inspiration that we experienced in Paris this year, brings rejuvenation to your creativity today!
