Product Spotlight: Suar Wood

This week, we are spotlighting some my favorite products. I love unique pieces with a history, and our new collections from Indonesia are exactly that! Each piece is hand carved with care by a local artist in Indonesia. Rain tree wood, known as Suar wood in Indonesia, has a straight grain and coarse texture, both important properties for carving wood.  Rain trees are fast growing and easily replaceable, making these works of art an environmentally friendly choice.

Humanity Collection: natural hand-carved pieces in beautiful and substantial rain tree wood.
Kallista vases are beautifully painted and textured in gorgeous colors.
Our Zuna pedestal is the perfect height to be used as a stool in your home or storefront.
Because it is both fascinating and amazing, I wanted to share a quick peek WAY behind the scenes for you. These are from the artisans in Indonesia who are creating these amazing pieces. Each piece is unique and beautiful, and I hope that you are as inspired as I am by the color and texture and hand-crafted design!

Pinic with Accent Decor

In my last post, I mentioned that we had added new members to our team. This past weekend, we spent time with these new team members (and old ones too) at the company picnic. The weather was beautiful, and it was a great time to celebrate and enjoy good food, pinatas, games, and the whole Accent Decor crew!

New T2: Looking Good with Els

If you are on our mailing list or a regular visitor to our website, you have probably seen the new Fall/Winter supplement. In case you haven't, here's what the cover looks like. Beautiful, right? The supplement cover features our beautiful Dorado bowl, with gorgeous styling by Els Teunissen. This week, we're unveiling a brand new Tips and Tricks video, 'Looking Good' with Els. Watch to find out how she created this beautiful cover design.

If you watched the last new T2 video we unveiled, you might have noticed the new format of our Tips and Tricks.... short and sweet, packing a lot of punch and design knowledge into a shorter amount of time. We think they are more watchable and fun, while still helpful and inspirational! Let us know what you think.
We have been very busy these days, so please be sure to order early for the holidays! Shipments are arriving daily, and we have increased our staff in order to give the customer service you deserve.
Check out the about us page to meet the whole team and to find out how to get in touch with customer service reps regarding any questions or needs you might have.

Inspired by: Science-Themed Photoshoot

I was so inspired when one of our customers sent us pictures from a science-themed photoshoot they put together using our glassware. I know my chemistry-teacher husband is going to be especially thrilled by the science part of it, but I just love how beautiful everything looks!

A big thanks to Faith at Floral Art Designs, and Nicole Chan Photography for sharing with us!

Inspiration from Overseas and our Customers

Our buying and development team has just returned from nearly two weeks in Europe. We are so excited about the new products and collections and ideas they have come up with. Enjoy a peek inside their trip and be inspired by the colors, textures, and tastes of Europe! You can see more pictures from their travels on our Facebook page.
Our overseas trip included visits to several shows which were great sources of inspiration and an insightful look into what's ahead as far as trends and innovation in design.

You can visit spoga + gafa's flickr stream for more pictures from this show in Germany.
Our team also visited the Maison & Objet show in Paris, you can visit their website to see and learn more.
Last week, we spotlighted our Birch products. Some of our fabulously talented customers sent a few pictures of their work using our birch products, and I wanted to share them here with you so you could be inspired too!
